    Product Overview

    The Oatey 4 oz. Purple Primer is formulated from a mixture of solvents. Designed to remove dirt, oils and other contaminants from the surface of PVC or CPVC piping. Low volatile organic compound (VOC).

    • Pre-softens PVC and CPVC pipe and fitting surfaces
    • Can be used on any diameter of PVC or CPVC piping
    • Do not use on ABS pipe installations
    • Meets ASTM F-656
    • Removes surface dirt, grease and grime as well as softens the pipe surface to allow a fast, secure solvent weld
    • For use in areas where plumbing code calls for verification that a primer has been used
